Passion is a wonderful thing.  It’s fuel for action.  Passion directed into a creative endeavor seeds the potential for truly inspired outcomes.  Being able to channel passion into a video edit promises the same rewards.  So how is it possible that a client didn’t see nor appreciated the passion you poured into the work?

One of the best pieces of advice I was ever given as a creative was, “You’re not making this for you.  You’re making this for the client.”  It’s their passion that matters.  The job of a video editor is to understand the clients’ passions, their goals and to get passionate about that.  It’s in that place that not only the opportunity for passion exists but also the potential for a creative challenge and it’s there that you’ll do your best work.
